Hesitation Blues Again: Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg
A few days ago I posted a recording of Jelly Roll Morton singing this song. Here are two modern masters of the guitar to do it again for you.
Jorma was a member of Jefferson Airplane and of Hot Tuna. He now runs a music school/camp called Fur Piece Ranch, in Ohio, when he isn’t out performing somewhere. David played guitar in Jerry Jeff Walker’s touring band until he formed his own in the early 1970s. In addition to guitar David plays the mandolin, fiddle and dobro. He now owns a very fancy violin shop in Wilmington, Delaware.
The picture in this video, taken in Chicago in 1985, leaves a little to be desired, but the sound is clear as a bell. It must have been taken right off the mixer.

Well I have over used my time allotment…..Grrrrrrr…and I really wanted to hear this one.
I will come back tomorrow and listen.
Have a great week-end!!
P.S. I had a blast in the 80’s at Diamond Jim’s in Dallas and they played a lot of Jerry Jeff Walker. I haven’t thought of him in years.
Amazing- I’ve been an Enormous Hot Tuna fan for years, though I can’t honestly remember how I stumbled upon them. I think it had something to do with an Arlo Guthrie LP I picked up several years ago.
I’m finding myself spending inordinate amounts of time on your site…and yet that’s a good thing.
