Marvin Gaye: What’s Going On?

Starting in the 1950a with a doo wop group,The Moonglows, Marvin Gaye struggled to succeed as a songwriter, music producer and singer, finally breaking through with his first #1 hit,I Heard It Through the Grapevine in 1967. He led a tumultuous life which ended in 1984 when he was shot by his own father.

What’s going On is the title song of a 1971 concept album written and produced by Marvin Gaye. It tells the story fo a veteran returning from Vietnam to find his home in a sad state of being. As we enter the final days of another sad era in American history, let us ask ourselves again, What’s Going on. Get yourselves out to the polls on Tuesday, please, and vote.

    Oh my as far as I am concerned it would be almost anti American to not love Marvin Gaye. He was definitely one of the greatest!!:-)
